The "House of the Sun 'is on the outskirts of the village of Catignano (only 1400 inhabitants) between the mountains of the Apennines and the Adriatic coast in the unspoilt Italian region of Abruzzo (Abruzzo). On the holiday - with wonderful private swimming pool - you feel like on top of the world. It lies on a ridge, a beautiful location with a breathtaking panorama, including overlooking a Mediterranean olive grove. Nowhere are the highest mountains of the Apennines so close to the sea.It is the perfect place to explore Abruzzo's riches: lounging on spectacular beaches, participate in climbing the entertainment during the local festivals, rugged and enchanting mountains, real pizza taste and feast on fresh fish caught here, visiting unique museums and ruins and shopping in stores with handcrafted products..Two thirds of the region is mountainous , the rest being gently rolling hills and coastline.To the north is the region of Le Marche, Lazio to the west, Mollise to the south and the Adriactic sea to the east.This is true Italy. Abruzzo is picturesque, it is a sleepy region where the pace of life is slow it gives the visitor a chance to experience true Italy unspoiled and perfect.The Apennines mountains form much of it's interior to the west , but towards the east the gently rolling foothills slowly slope down to long stretches of sandy coastline. Abruzzo in the summer has an average temperature of 24 degrees, late July and August can climb to over 30 degrees perfect for lazy days by the beach.Or head up into the National park where it is always a few degrees cooler and explore the natural scenery .In autumn (18-25 degrees)and winter the temperature varies 10- 18 degrees . January is the coldest month (5-12 degrees) .You can expect to have 190 days of settled snow in the mountains usually from about Mid December onwards till March - great for skiing or cross country skiing, only 1h from the house.The area loves its festivals , whether they be food festivals, folk ceremonies .One of the most famous is Lanciano they have a medieval pageant and horse race this is usually in September . Every small village has it's own festa with music and dancing and fireworks .Slowly slide your way into the rhythm of authentic everyday Italian life with good espresso on the terrace of the house gazing at the majestic Majella Mountains and the beautiful Gran Sasso massif (national park) or walking on the Monday market where you can buy fresh products, such as porchetta (traditional dish of roasted pork), salsicce (spicy sausage) and cheese are.Relax and comfort on the heart of nature- lovely house with private pool and spectacular views,between mountain and sea small paradise

House of the sun is in the unique position of being equal distance between the mountains and the beautiful trabocchi coast 25 mins to both.All amenities are easily reached by car. The local area is populated with many old picturesque villages and towns.Those who wish to avoid well developed holiday resorts will take solace in lots of small towns scattered through out the area. Gorgeous stone castles dotted through the countryside . Medieval fortresses built to protect hill top villages, small chapels with stunning architecture and beautiful religious relics.You may choose to spend lazy days around the house sunbathing on the patio or reading a book on chaise longue under Olive tree in the shade with a glass of Prosecco, or you may want to explore the area has something for everyone and makes the perfect place to holiday
The view, also from the private pool is spectacular: the blue sea to the high mountains. The comfortable house has room for six people For our guest house we offers 120 sqm with large living room with fireplace ,tv ,dvd, 3 special bedrooms, comfortable kitchen(30sqm) and bathroom , a large sun terrace with a special panoramic view where you can take a breakfast on the morning.In the 3 bedroom unit, special emphasis on good mattresses and beautiful bed linen was laid you can find all comfort . Dining area provides an opportunity to relax or for a romantic dinner.The apartment has a unique, elegant and modern and fresh design and has its own creativity.There are high ceilings and plenty of natural light. The windows have shutters and mosquito nets.The house has a private entrance which is accessed via an external staircase and terrace. Situated on a corner of the pool area, which thanks to a tall, green hedge has great privacy. From the bath or lounging on one of the sun beds enjoying the stunning panoramic views. If it gets too hot in the sun, no problem, there is also an olive tree that provides plenty of shade.The region is famous for its arrosticini (grilled pieces of lamb or pork on a stick), olive oil of high quality and the true Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine which you can buy directly from the manufacturer.ruzzese specialties such as fresh fish, porchetta and the famous' Maccheroni alla ghitarra (pasta).Do you want to tailor yourself a different vacation ? We offers a variety of opportunities. The Catignano town is 365 meters high and is small but friendly. You'll find a baker, butcher, bank, two grocery shops, a cafe and bar-cafes. Our home are surrounded by a natural 3 parks with a lake , wide spaces and olive groves where you can walk, horse riding , mountain biking to explore our surroundings. We will suggest special tours and indicate the most charming places to visit. We will give you maps and road- information.

Wine & Olive Oil Tasting
You can taste the wines produced directly by farmer's association and it is possible to visit the farm and its wine cellar. Here is possible to make the olive oil tasting that will be accompanied by rich snacks of "bruschetta" toasted bread. Themed Dinners - our guests can taste typical Abruzzo food and local seasonal products. . It is an entire week of Art events, music and food tasting.Why not experience classic or modern music classes or test yourself in cooking or learning italian ?

Outlet & Shopping if you wish to spend a day for shopping, the most famous outlets, (entire outlet village) to buy original made in Italy brands are located about half hour away.

The house is located in the central part of Italy(2 hours from Rome) and is easy to find ,on the A14 if coming from the north and accessible A 24, if you come from Rome.We are a less then 20 minute drive from Pescara airport, with a regular flight between London,Oslo,Francoforte,Toronto,Parigi and Pescara, flying with Ryan air. Rome Ciampino,Fiumicino airport, is 2 hours drive, with many flights coming all over the world.A direct bus travels from Rome,Ancona,Milano to Pescara, there is also a train/Coach service available..
