Situated on the mountain Castellabate, the town has a historic center with many narrow, winding streets. The charming old town with many buildings worth seeing is one reason why Castellabate was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site.
After the Benedictine monks constructed the old town, they also built the bell tower.

In Santa Maria, the underwater world in the bay with its kilometers of sandy beaches has been protected since 1972.
Since fishing still plays an important role here, you can enjoy excellent fish dishes, among other things, in the gastronomic establishments.
